10 characteristics for a Deputy
1 Vision – a good Deputy should be able to see further ahead.
2 Hearing – a Deputy should be able to listen with empathy and objectively. Listening skills are vital.
3 Speaking – they should be able to articulate their thoughts and ideas clearly, passionately, succinctly.
4 Experience – a Deputy should have a lived a good few years and have a wide range of life experiences.
5 Hungry for information – they must have a desire to research, know how things work and seek the truth.
6 Happy to go against the crowd - believe in the courage of their convictions. Have the common touch.
7 Know themselves – understand what truly motivates them and act with passion, energy and integrity.
8 Common sense – must be applied, it will stop regrets and should be listened to.
9 An enabler – someone that can marshal forces and create common movement. Someone that can lead.
10 Be creative – look for the opportunities in problem solving. Listen, identify the problems, research then act - make a decision.
